I could do with a picture to illustrate this, but an idea on straight roads is not to ride all in single file but to ride in staggered formation so that you can see further and have more room to stop if need be. In town you may also be able to use this to clear a junction quicker, but it depends on your confidence in your riding mates.

For corners or overtakes out on the open road you can go back to single file, keeping an adequate distance between you and the bike in front (2 seconds in the highway code).

Viper flip lid

recently purchased one of the Viper bluetooth flip lids as I was in need of a new one to replace my Caberg Justissimo flip lid..

Im a fan of flip lids over conventional ones especially on the hotter day (not that we get many, eh!) - basically I like the idea of in town I can open it up and breathe

I must say for a sub £150 lid it aint bad at all. The fits good and uses the seatbelt type fixing rather than D buckles. The lids got the internal flip down secondary dark visor which can be put down whether the rids open or closed.. wind noise is actually less than the Caberg too with only a very slight whistle.. The Caberg felt like it had a gale blowing through sometimes..

The addition of bluetooths great.. I had an Autocom system on my previous bike but I always found the helmet speakers i mounted in the Caberg felt a little uncomfy after a couple of hours.. The speakers on the Viper are built in and mounted above the ear spaces at right angles so no rubbing. sound qualitys pretty good too, I could recieve phone calls (using auto answer) at motorway speeds no problem at all, clarity was fine..
Im looking at buying the wife one too as you can link them toegether to act as an intercom (is that wise? ha-ha)

Just spent over £280 getting my bike serviced. Are there any places in the Lothian and Borders where I can learn to do some of this myself or is it better left to the ‘experts’ ??
As you will tell by this question I am NO mechanic!

I travel Edinburgh to Glasgow daily by bike and I end up in heavy traffic from Junction 12 onwards. I filter through the traffic at a genberally slow speed but still making better progress than the single occuppancy Cars sitting in straight lines (more the fool them) but what I am wondering is : Is it legal and if so what advice would a PC give in these circumstances

Yours Aye

Has anyone tried this online game?

Beside shooting blood everywhere and doing quests for others, talking to monsters that I’ll never find in real life ... I found this game interesting for surviving ( although are lot’s of topics to be covered ).

A difference from Wikipedia ( you only have content ) this game kind of force you to read about topics / ideas / concepts ( learning without knowing it )

Idea of the game: Win credits for solving questions and use the credits to post your own questions for other users to solve!

Take a look around you can find the concept useful for you.

maintaining the group

hey all, first post and all..

I wanna hear your thoughts on maintaining your groups while out riding..

Ive did a few where theres been up to fifteen riders and it usually ends up evolving into sub groups, namely the fast riders and the slow riders.. Those that just want to get from A to B in the quickest time possible and are in it for that head down total concentration mode and those that are happier to cruise along and take in the scenery, weather and general good vibes etc..

it usually seems to be a case of we meet at A, B and C points but usually ends up with by the time the slower paced riders get to the meet points the faster ones are itching to get going again..

im of the feeling that in group riding i like to keep an eye on the riders both in front and behind me (obviously) so that everyones following the same route and no-one gets left behind.. this can on occasion find me at a diallema at not wanting to leave mates behind while others shoot into the distance..

how do you guys (and galls if any) handle this?
