Charity Poker Run 2010
Another weekend is here and the open road is calling us! It's been a great start to the biking season, with very many of you getting together with us at the food and fuel stops to swap stories and pick-up tips. This weekend will be no different, we'll be out and about on the Borders roads engaging and advising as many of you as we can. If there's something that's been bothering you about the way you ride and you want to know how to improve it, or you're not sure how to move on and take extra training or instructiion then come and speak to us, it's free advice from the professionals. If we can give you a flavour of how to improve and develop your skills, you take it away and work on it and after a period of time you see and feel an improvement in your riding, then it's been worthwhile.
I'd like to give you early notification of this year's Charity Poker Run, which will take place on SUNDAY 13 JUNE 2010. Registration will be between 1200-1300hrs at the Glen Hotel in Selkirk. Routes, maps and pick-up points will be given then. For those who are unsure what a poker run is, it's an event where you travel to various points, pick-up a playing card and the person with the best "poker hand" at the end of the day wins a prize. There are number of raffle prizes to be won and the money raised is given to charity. This year it's local kids who will benefit with the money being used to buy sports equipment. Finally - well done to Stuart Easton our local BSB star. Stuart won a brilliant first race from lights to flag at Oulton Park last weekend. The second race didn't go so well with tyre and electrical problems, but there's more to come from our Borders lad.
