Credit Crunch Alternative - Free Stuff in the Borders
This weekend, as we all know is a Bank Holiday and where better to spend it than on a bike riding the roads of the Scottish Borders. The weather is pretty good with Sunday foecast to be the best day.
This weekend in Edinburgh we've got a rugby league competition on Saturday and Sunday at Murrayfield, featuring famous teams like Wigan, St. Helens, Hull KR etc. Why not make a detour and come and watch a few matches, they're on all day with staggered kick-off times. You'll find details on the rugby league website. This weekend also see's another round of the British Superbike Championship at Oulton Park. We'll be keeping close tabs on our mate Stuart Easton who did really well at Brands and is currently 4th in the Championship for Hydrex Honda.
Despite our commitments this weekend to these events in Edinburgh, we'll still be out and about on the routes around the Borders. I make no apoligies for once more inviting you all to come and have a word with us. If you spoke with us last year and were given our freebies then you'll find this year that we've got a nice new batch of different ones. There's also a chance that the bike cop you speak to will be a different one from last year with different stories and jokes. The free advice continues along with the odd cup of coffee and abiscuit if you're good!!
We're still getting to grips with bits of our new routes, but if there's anything out there that you want to pass on or bring to our attention to then please feel free to use the forum to post your questions or points of view.
I'll take this oppotunity to remind you all of the charity poker run taking place on Sunday 10 May, leaving from Selkirk Police Station at 1.15pm. Registration will be between 12 midday and 1 o'clock. Come along for a great afternoon's fun and help raise some cash for local charities.
Stay safe and I'll speak next weekend!
