First weekend out and about - around the corner

The weekend, Saturday 21 and Sunday 22 March 2009, will see the first weekend when officers from our motorcycle section will be out and about on the Borders roads to give you the benefit of their experience and advice. Our around the corner safety initiative is aimed at bikers who enjoy riding the roads in the Scottish Borders and who want to do so safely. We are not out to spoil your fun and enjoyment, but to help enhance your knowledge and understanding of riding bikes, which hopefully will increase your fun and safety.

If you're out and about that weekend, why not pop in to BCG Bikes, Channel Street, Galashiels who are hosting our launch. They will have a variety of bikes on display and members of the IAM will be there to organise a ride out or two. A couple of our guys will pop in during the day, so don't be shy and pick their brains. You might be lucky, they've a selection of free goodies that they will be giving out.  BCG Bikes are open between 0930 and 1730hrs.

Remember - March can still hold surprises with the weather so if you're thinking of coming along to the launch or planning a run that weekend - don't forget your waterproofs and warm clothing.

Have a great day out and stay safe!
