Me on holiday!!
You guys left behind?
Hello again and a big thanks to all of you who attended the BMF Bikefest at Kelso last weekend. The weather held out and there was a good attendance over the three days. We took plenty of questions over the weekend concerning a huge variety of subjects and there were masses of survey forms completed by riders of all types of bikes.
The next big "bike event" for us is the Steve "Hizzy" Hislop Memorial Run on Sunday 6 September. Check out our Links page and the website for more details.
This weekend for us is business as usual with the bikers out and about on our routes trying to engage with as many as you as possible. The weather is not brilliant with light rain forecast for Saturday and sunny intervals on Sunday. That'll not put a damper on the spirits of most of you who know what to expect in the Borders. For those of you thinking about visiting us for the first time, you're in for a biking treat! The roads in our area were voted amongst some of the top 10 best biking roads in the UK, shame the weather is not. Like all great biking roads you've got to concentrate and expect the unexpected. Following the rain watch out for damp areas under trees, wet drain covers and the usual wet white paint. At accesses to fields watch out for mud and other debris dragged onto the road, which usually is mid-corner - just where we don't want it.
I'm about to head off on holiday so there will be no updates on this page for about three weeks. However, that doesn't stop you making use of our Forum page to chat with like-minded enthusiasts. Post your question or make your point and see what feedback or discussion you generate. In the meantime I wish you all well and stay safe - I don't want to read about horrendous crashes when I get back to work. Look out for yourselves and others in your group and always remember what might be "around the corner". Cheers.
