Only a week to go!
Local boy Stuart Easton, who will ride for the Swan Honda Team in the 2010 BSB Championship.
Only a week to go until the Scottish Motorcycle Show at Ingliston. The weather has improved and I've noticed more bikes out and about over the recent days, so hopefully with the sun continuing to shine there will be a big turnout over the two days, 20 and 21 March.
It looks like we've scooped the services of Stuart Easton, who will be making an appearance on our stand on the Saturday. Stuart is a great supporter of Around The Corner and I'd like to thank him for giving up his time to come and join us, especially at such a busy time for him, pre-season testing in the lead-up to the new British Superbike Season.
Over the course of the two days this year we're running a charity raffle on our stand in aid of the hospital wards at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh, which deal with head and brain injuries. The Department for Clinical Neurosciences (DCN) is a centre of excellence and patients from all over Scotland are brought to the centre to receive specialist treatment. All the proceeds of the raffle will be donated to the Department to help them continue their work. We've got four great prizes to raffle off - a Smug make motorcycle jacket, an RST-Moto make motorcylce jacket, a RST D-Zign motorcycle crash helmet and a G-Mac Jaguar motorcycle crash helmet. To win one of these great prizes you just have to buy a ticket at our stand. Tickets are only £1.00. You can buy a ticket for each of the prizes if you fancy them all, or a ticket just for the item you want the most. All the money will go to the Hospital to help keep an excellent service going - one that is good to know is there for us, but one we hope we never have to use.
Just write your name and a contact phone number on the tickets you buy, place them into the relevant box for the prize you're wanting to win and we'll do the rest. Winners will be drawn after the show closes and I'll be in contact with all the winners by phone during the following week. GOOD LUCK!
STOP PRESS..STOP PRESS....16/3/10......... The good news is that there will additional prizes up for grabs in the raffle. In addition to those mentioned above there will be tickets for the Knockhill round of the British Superbikes and a voucher for a brand new helmet of your choice. The raffle tickets remain at only £1 each and with all the brilliant prizes available it's well worth buying as many as you can afford. Come on, all the money raised goes to an excellent cause and will be used to help buy vital equipment and go towards specialist staff training. Thanks in advance, see you all there!
