You are here: Home > Dumfries and Galloway

Welcome to Dumfries and Galloway, often referred to as the “forgotten corner” of Scotland as many tourists and travellers by-pass it and take the straight-line north from England and head for the Highlands.

With an area just over 2,500 square miles and a population of around 150,000 there’s no shortage of open space. Factor in 2600 miles of road with just 220 miles of trunk roads and you get an idea of the nature of biking in our area.

Rural routes with hill country and coastal runs set the tone and you will struggle to find anywhere that does not welcome bikers with open arms. Long gone are the days when pubs displayed the “No Bikers / No Leathers” signs.

Your biggest worry will be making sure you have enough fuel as the relaxed rural communities still work on the “shop hours” rules of business. Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm, half day on a Saturday. Chilled.
