Sometimes referred to as the “Kingdom”, Fife is a natural peninsula on the east coast of Scotland. Sandwiched between the Firths of Tay and Forth it is also bound by the Ochil and Cleish Hills to the west giving a real sense of independence from other counties. Fife has a distinct place in the history of Scotland, Dunfermline being the former Capital.
Although the smallest county in Scotland, with an area of some 500 square miles, it has much to offer for visitors, from its historic sites to sandy beaches. Now most famous for St Andrews, 'the home of golf', it was previously much more prominent, having been the home of the Scottish Kings for over 500 years.
In Fife, we are committed to reducing the number of motorcycle casualties within the region and as such our Fife Safety Camera partners can be seen at various locations on each of the three routes described where there is a history of accidents. Full details of their deployment schedule can be found through their icon link.
We are delighted to introduce you to some of our motorcycling routes, chosen by our police bikers, being suitable for all abilities and offering an opportunity to stop at some of the more popular tourist attractions Fife has to offer, along the way.
If time permits, the 'Valley' and 'Langtoun' routes can be easily linked giving
an extended tour. The 'North East Loop' is particularly popular with tourists during the summer travelling through St.Andrews and the ever popular East Neuk Fishing villages of Anstruther, Elie and Crail to name but a few.
Whilst affiliated to the National Bikesafe scheme, we have a localised registration process, full details of which can be found at Fife Police
